VIMS & R.C. is a private medical college recognized by MCI and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences, Bangalore.

The counseling is taken care of by Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA).

Counseling Procedure of KEA for direct admission in MBBS in Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre

Karnataka Examination Authority is taking the counseling for MBBS admission for the NEET qualified students.

There are mainly 5 steps in the counseling procedure. I will list the steps first and tell you in detail about each step.

  1. Online registration in KEA or Karnataka Examination Authority.
  2. Document verification.
  3. The first round of counseling.
  4. The second round of counseling.
  5. MOP-UP Round.

80 percent of the seats are under P and Govt. quota, 15 percent of the seats are under the NRI quota, and 5 percent are under the Q quota.

NRI quota and Q quota are the higher fee structure seats. The students who have not been able to secure a high score in NEET but are desirous of studying in the institution can try for the higher fee structure seats in the counseling.

To start with the step-by-step procedure of applying in KEA, a NEET qualified student must register online in the KEA portal

After completing registration, the student should upload all the necessary documents online to generate the verification receipt. This is called the document verification procedure.

The secret code would be mentioned in the verification receipt, which would be required to do the option entry.

If a student’s first preference is VIMS & R.C., he should mention it as option no 1. (Step by step instructions would be mentioned on the KEA website).

There would be three rounds of counseling. The first two rounds would be online, and the third round OR the Mop-Up round would be an offline round where a student and one guardian should be present physically along with the necessary documents and D.D. of Fee.

Students are advised to carry D.D. in variable denominations.

Important: One more vital factor to keep in mind is to make the demand drafts from Nationalised Banks only.

If a student can secure the seat, he should deposit the original documents and carry the admission order to the institution for the reporting. After reporting in front of the principal, the student should

go to the administration office with the principal’s signature and fill up the application form and pay the miscellaneous fees, which come around Rs 180000/-.

The student then again should go and report to the principal and start attending classes. The Misc Fees paid include material charges, University registration Fees and Books, and Uniform Fees. This fee is to be paid only once.

Furthermore, the student should apply Eligibility in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences.

Next comes the offline Mop Up round. In this round, the remaining vacant unfilled seats are filled up directly by the college authorities based on merit at a comparatively lower fees structure.

Here the highly meritorious and desirous students looking forward to study in VIMS & R.C. but cannot afford either NRI or Q quota fees can take seats at a comparatively lower fee structure.

Conclusion

Here in this article, I have tried my best to give all the information about the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center. The Facilities and infrastructure of the college are upto the mark, and there would be no one who would not like to keep it as an option for the studies.

However, since the number of seats is relatively low and the demand is very high, the students looking to pursue their P.G. or U.G. from this reputed institution should either try to get a high rank in NEET or take the seats higher fees category.

Last Year Experience

In the year 2020 NEET PG, the revised eligibility score was relatively lowered (approximately 89 marks), leading to an increased number of eligible students. So, the demand went very high, and no seats were left vacant.
